AcePhone Voice over IP

What is it?

Exactly how it sounds, we transmit your telephone call over the internet. You don't even need to be technical to use it; you still pick up your telephone and dial a normal telephone number, wait until they pick up and talk away!

What does it cost?

A lot less than calling on your standard telephone. Because your call is transmitted over the internet, we can offer discounted rates on your national and international calls! Best of all, you can talk to any other compatible VoIP telephone for free!

Call anywhere in Australia for 10c UNTIMED!

There is a monthly access fee of $9.95 for the VoIP service, this fee is charged in advance, call charges in arrears.

What do I need?

Voice over IP requires a Broadband internet connection (minimum 256k/64k), however we recommend 512k/128k speed for optimum clarity.

You will also require a VoIP telephone or Adapter to use the Voice over IP system. Acenet sells standard VoIP telephones and adapters for $120.00.

The AcePhone VoIP telephone connects to your ADSL modem using an Ethernet network cable (CAT5) just like your computer. You can use your normal telephone for local calls and the VoIP telephone to call over the internet.

The other option is to use an AcePhone telephone adapter. The adapter connects to your ADSL modem using an Ethernet network cable (CAT5) like before, however you can then plug a standard telephone into the adapter. There are a range of telephone adapters available including 'smart' ones that can channel local calls through your normal telephone line and long distance calls through the internet. Contact us about choosing the right adapter for you!

How does it work?

Calling long distance hasn't changed at all, if you are dialling international destinations you still press 0011 before the country code or area code if within Australia.

If you wanted to call someone else on the internet you would need to dial their VoIP number, which is very similar to a normal telephone number.

Am I locked into a contract?

No!
